Michelle’s Personal Story

Hi, it’s Michelle Ma and I’m so glad you’re here!

I want to share with you a defining moment, and a resulting compelling story, that brought me to where I am today – supporting women like you on exactly what to do to believe in your own capabilities, learn how to turn your challenges into opportunities for growth, and cultivate a strategy that will continue to help you achieve greatness.

In July of 2017, I left my entire life behind to pursue my dream which completely turned my life around.

This new journey gave me insights and perspectives that helped me awaken my potential to thrive for what I desire. I learned to see my life through my own lens instead of the lens of others, I was able to focus on the things that would support and define what was truly important to me.

Growing up, I had this instilled belief that in order to be successful, I had to live to please others.  I was taught to live with high expectations in hopes that one day, would bring me everything I was seeking.  My parents and society taught me the standard way of living which was to follow the crowd and get a steady job and paycheck.  This led me to believe that the only way to succeed was to fulfill the standards they had for me.

I spent 10+ years in the legal industry where I watched my life spiral out of control.  I dreaded waking up in the morning because I knew the moment I stepped into the office, I would constantly be reminded, throughout the day, that my best was never good enough.

My day-to-day routine became predictable.  My boss showed up to the office late and took 3-hour lunches while I worked overtime with no lunch hour or any breaks in between.  Due to the limited training, not only did I learn everything on my own but was expected to be 3 steps ahead of my boss.  When he was not in the office or worked from home, the responsibility was automatically on me to deal with clients which put me under a lot of pressure.  When something came up that needed his immediate attention, he was nowhere to be found. I felt so much resistance and resentment when I was expected to work on his schedule even after hours.

My average day lasted 12-14 hours and sometimes 16-18 hours for 14 consecutive days when I prepared for trial.  Due to long hours and the regular 3 hours of sleep, it made me ineffective.  I couldn’t focus on my work, became severely depressed, felt isolated, lacked productivity, my performance decreased drastically and I furiously lashed out at people who truly cared about me.  It made me extremely irritable that work took up all my time and I regretted missing out on all the other aspects of my life.

I felt depleted to always put myself on “Go Mode” and the endless workload, occasional weekends, stress, frustration, constant burnouts, low self-esteem, and having no work/life balance was not my idea of fun. I had reached a level of exhaustion that I was unable to fully recover from.  Most of the people around me were impressed by my title and thought I lived a glorious life as a Registered Paralegal, but I felt nothing but loneliness and emptiness inside.

Every second became a challenge and I experienced excruciating pain mentally, emotionally, and physically. Above all, what made it exceedingly difficult was my role required me to strive for perfection but I never got the appreciation, respect, support, acknowledgment, and encouragement that I deserved.

I desperately wanted to escape being a slave to my job and constantly being overlooked by my boss.

I decided I no longer wanted to live under control and restriction.

I eventually learned how to welcome new opportunities that allowed me to break free, reclaim my freedom, and help me level up.  I learned that there were more effective and efficient ways to create an ideal lifestyle while I took back control of my life.

If you find an opportunity to attract more of what you thrive for 10 times faster, push beyond your own limiting beliefs – no restraints, no restrictions and be bold enough to go after what you really want in life, I challenge you to go for it!
